I studied classical drawing techniques during the early ‘80s and began taking on portrait commissions,
then went to Leiden, the Netherlands to study graphic design for 2 years. I also took one year of
sculpting, but I chose to remain in my 2-dimensional world with which I try to bring much joy into many
people's homes. The techniques I mainly use are a mix of pastel and colour pencils, negro pencils and,
occasionally, metallic ink, gold leafing and watercolours to accentuate certain aspects of a drawing. I
also create fine ink drawings in the pointillist fashion.
My work can be found in many private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany and the
USA.
I have contributed to the following publications: "5 Jaar De Lelie" by Danny Renders, Belgium 1992,
"Artists and Galleries", Belgium 1997, various other art books and catalogues and my work has also
been published in various magazines and newspapers such as: "Tableaux" (NL), "Avantgarde"
(NL),"Feeling" (B), "Art, Antiques and Auctions" (B), "De Haagsche Courant" (NL), "Catfolies" (B),
"Artschool" (NL), etc.
I have created illustrations for several books such as "Rock’s Mystical Lady" and "Lady of the Stars"
by Ed Wincentsen, USA 1993 and 1994, a book cover illustration for "Morgan Part II" by Linda de Vos,
and most recently produced the cover artwork for the new album by Ritchie Blackmore (ex-Deep Purple
guitarist) and Candice Night called "Shadow of the Moon". This year I will be illustrating the front and
back cover of a totally different project called "Tank Army" for Trafalgar Publishing, Canada.
